Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Drive from Arusha to Tarangire. Spend the afternoon discovering the park’s baobabs and vast elephant herds.

Day 2: Tarangire to Lake Eyasi Cultural Immersion

Drive to the shores of Lake Eyasi. In the afternoon, visit the Datoga tribe to observe their ancient blacksmithing skills and traditional homesteads, gaining an understanding of local tribal structures.

Day 3: Hadzabe Hunt to Central Serengeti

Join the Hadzabe Bushmen for an early morning traditional hunter-gatherer walk. Learn about their ancient bush-survival techniques. Return for breakfast, then drive up through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descending into the central Serengeti plains for an afternoon game drive.

Day 4: Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti (Mara River)

Embark on a game drive heading north through the Serengeti towards the Kogatende region. As you approach the Kenyan border, you will encounter the massive vanguard of the Great Migration herds. Check into a northern migration tented camp.

Day 5 & 6: Full Days Northern Serengeti (Mara River Crossings)

Spend two full, thrilling days tracking the migration along the banks of the Mara River. Your guide will patiently position the vehicle to witness the dramatic river crossings, as thousands of wildebeest brave strong currents and giant Nile crocodiles. Look out for lions and leopards patrolling the riverbanks.

Day 7: Northern Serengeti to Karatu via Maasai Village

Enjoy a morning game drive out of the northern plains. Transit south through the park and stop to visit an authentic Maasai village in the Ngorongoro highlands to learn about their pastoral lifestyle and customs. Arrive in Karatu for the night.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration

Descend 600 meters into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive. Track the endangered black rhino and dense prides of lions inside this natural volcanic amphitheater. Enjoy a picnic lunch before ascending to your Karatu lodge.

Day 9: Karatu to Arusha & Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed drive back to Arusha. Explore a local cultural heritage market for shopping before your private vehicle transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
